DVN-E39 with Reverse Camera !!!!

I’ve just bought and installed a Dynavin DVN-E39 SatNav, however, I cannot figure out how to set up the reverse camera. There is a camera input on one of the leads but there isn’t an option on the unit to select the camera. I’m assuming there must be a switch wire so that when you reverse a voltage is sent to the unit and the camera is switched through automatically.

I don’t have any installation instructions and I would appreciate if someone can give me some advice, the unit is operating on WINDOWS 6.0Ce

i think when you connect the camera to the reverse light feed and select reverse the camera will have power and the video will show up on the screen..

on a factory set up it would be a ground to pin 17 on the tv module, this would switch the monitor to av and then show the camera. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I’m assuming this is how it works but I cannot identify which wire to connect up on the back of the Dynavin

Hi Andy - Bringing up an old post here but..

After you fitted your new head unit do you get the full computer display (i.e. mpg and ability to reset etc)

Was it a straight swap and easy to fit. I;m fed up with my pre touch screen model, poor nav, no bluetooth etc.

Thanks Ash

Did a bit more digging last night on this. It seems the Dynavin E46 (D99) and the Dynavin E39A are both direct replacements for factory units. (i.e. plug and play)

It even suggest you will get the full OBC display on the screen that includes mpg, temp etc.

Does anyone have experience of this and is there the option to reset the mpg etc without the need to retain the old HU somewhere.

These are the ones in question

Well I just answered my post - Speaking with Dynavin - none of the systems they make (DVN E46 or DVN-E39) will integrate into my car as I have DSP. This would involve ripping out the whole amp and cabling and a complete re wire to each speaker with a new amp etc....

No way to replace the factory Head Unit without a complete install apparently.. Big Cry

Should work seemlessly for vehicles without DSP however. Has to be the E39 variety as the E46 won't fit (differnt size) and the screen will only show readout of OBC data. It has no means to update anything (ie cannot reset MPG etc)

Hope this helps someone..! Ash
