Software Update Help 2007 TDV8

Hi all

In the new year i will be having an Inspection 2 carried out by my local stealer and they have agreed to carry out all required software updates whilst they are doing the service without extra charge, probably due to it been a bad time for dealerships this time of year.

They have suggested a small charge may be applied for the Bluetooth but i have negotiated that as the only chargeable update (the Bluetooth one may be declined since Wiggs does the update for a good price)

Anyway, i am led to believe their is a software update for the gearbox but after that i have no idea what is available and id like to know so i can ensure they do them all rather than letting them tell me they have when in truth they haven't and didn't intend to since they are free so to speak. The service tech suggested a fuel delivery update for the TDV8 which takes an hour, anyone heard of this?.

Can anyone advise what updates are available for the 2007 MY TDV8 please?. The last time she saw an official LR dealer was in 2007. Its got a specialist service history, with all receipts etc but i am unsure if the updates will have been done and want to be armed just incase. I realise its not possible to tell if i have had them but knowing of their existence allows me to check for them before i pay.

Thanks in advance

Carl

I havent finished with the updates yet, still waiting to buy and fit mirror & door handle covers, remove the tailgate glass lower trim like the 2010 and possible have my front S/C grille colour coded like the 2010 Jupiter finish one.

I am also considering the 2010 LED rear lights as i love them.

Its very dirty at the moment and i dont have any pictures, plus i have no idea how to upload them anyway Embarassed

Carl, what is the tailgate glass lower trim? On mine there is no trim at the bottom of the glass, it just ends, there is a small gap and then the metalwork starts...

First year or so of the TDV8's, they had a plastic trim below the rear window.
Newer cars only have the glass, and no trim.

What year is yours? 2010 has no bottom trim.

Its a weather strip like those fitted to the bottoms of the side windows. I'm going to remove mine (if it looks ok and thew glass isn't shorter tham the 2010).

Anyone help re the software updates?

Hi Carl

Sorry cannot help with the software update, Off Topic but regarding the rear glass trim, my car is a 57 reg but a MY08 model. Don't know whether originally it had a trim piece at the bottom of the glass, but it certainly hasn't had one since I have owned the car. Looks good without an unnecessary piece of plastic in my opinion Thumbs Up

If you view this full size you can see the gap.

there's a drive train software update which I had done in Feb this year on my 08 TDV8 - makes the gearbox and engine smoother. I think there is also a later update for the gearbox to smooth out the 2nd to 1st gear changes. 3.0 VSE - 2015MY
