The holes on the actual vents allow for a slight bit of movement , if for instance you think the vent is too far in when tightening up , just slightly pull the vent forward beforehand ….

Yes I saw that look very tasty. They just did not want to fit with the black plastic section fitted.Thanks I think your spot on and I had thought that prior to walking a few feet for the first time admiration glance |

Thanks guys after going back out and removing again I fitted the black plastic backing piece and with a bit of jiggling it does fit with the backing piece |

I think its the type 7 same as yours im after but will wait until my tyres are well worn . Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
