Auto high beam retrofit

I feel like I know the answer to this already from other threads but I need to ask the question.

I bought a rear view mirror AH32-17E678-AB. From a range rover sport. Pretty sure this is the issue but bear with me.

Plugged it into my 2012 tdv8 and changed the ccf on the iid and the menu comes up on the dasg. Turned it on and the warning light comes on with the ignition when the normal lights are on auto. And then stays on for about 10 seconds. And then comes on when the car is in reverse?

Does anyone know if the warning light is on when its active of only when the high beams are "auto" activated?

I read that I need to get one from an L322 for it to work but I know the car recognises the sensor as when I unplug it I get a "U0242-00 (2F) Lost communication with the headlamp control module B" error and the menu disappears off the dash, and no errors when its plugged in. Just doesn't work.

Ok will have to spend the extra haha. Weird that the car does recognise it as what it is though

Yes but they will have very different can-bus signals so, hence why the car see’s something but cannot communicate with it… Thumbs Up

I keep looking on and off for one for my car.

There’s an American one on eBay with the HomeLink option on it but the frequencies for the HomeLink will be wrong Sad 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

That’s very strange that one from the US works! They don’t usually so, if anyone reads this thread please make sure of what your buying/ordering please… 👍

Mine came with the homelink. Thinking about swapping it over to my mirror without homelink as i have no use for it. Especially now if it wont work here
