TRANSFER CASE BEARINGS, where to buy.

I have the transfer case apart right now, but I am having NO luck sourcing new bearings locally. Does ANYBODY! know where I can source new bearings.

Transfer case model- NV 225
The original part # for the bearing is - Brand name - NSK item#- B47-7a1

I have tried to cross reference with another bearing but no luck.

Any help appreciated.

When I took in my FFRR to have the auto sorted I spoke at length with the owner of the firm (hands on) who did it. He had several FFRR's in to do, one of which had a busted transferbox. He said that he couldn't get the parts to rebuild it Shocked so it was a replacement in that case. He is a transmission specialist so if any one could sort it I would have figured he could.

I hope you have more luck! 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

That just seems wrong.... you think the New venture gear plant ( the plant that built these NV225 ) in roitzsch, germany would send me a few bearings Very Happy

Its got to be worth a punt... they aren't small change as I'm sure you've already figured out. Other thing to try I guess would be to take all the measurements you can and speak with a specialist. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

I believe I read that the transfer case was un-rebuildable in the RAVE too (rubbed me wrong, which is why I remember it. That sort of comment makes me think: F@(K U! You're not getting my money!)

I couldn't find any info on the numbers you provide either. Why not try these guys? They have a rebuild kit for Jeep NV 247 transfer boxes - they may be able to help with bearing sizes. Otherwise, send me a PM and I'll call NV in Germany for you.

long shot but on the bearing sides outer ring (if that makes sense ) there is usually a number in maybe black that is the bearing spec number if you know that you can get one from anywhere Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

A bearing wont be unique to one application, it will fit a multitude of roles.
Done a quick google and came up with this site.

Regarding anything transmission my first port of call would be Dave Ashcroft of Ashcroft Transmissions. If it's at all possible he will know how. (advertises in LR mags)

If Dave says no then my last resort would be Chris at C&K Engineering in High Wycombe. They've made me all sorts of stuff which I couldn't otherwise have got such as white metal bearings etc. If he can't get it he 'might' be able to make it. If he can't make it then, well, it's replacement box time.
