DVD player acting up

Hi all

Been having intermittent issues with the DVD player in my 06 s/c

It goes looking for the disc and then just says 'no disc'.
I have tried replacing the discs in there and same problem...

Except, sometimes it decides to work!

Really driving me nuts as you really need it on long car journeys with a 14 month old!

Any ideas or known fixes?

Cheers
Pdt

Try a cd lens cleaner?

The DVD player in my Merc did that a few times, cleaned it and it's fine now. 2006 Mercedes CLS

as dvd /cd players go this would be down to the laser, can you hear it clicking.. now i take it you are playing original disc so the first thing would be invest in a lens cleaner, if this made no different then i would remove the unit and ave a look inside, check for water damage, V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
