satnav unit

thought i would look at updating satnav to a mk4 unit, but on looking at mine
it does not seem to be the one i was expecting to see. my 2005 pre facelift has
part no 462100-8318,cant find any info on this other than company called bba-reman.
i did call them but useless, does anyone know about these, are they a straight swap,
do they have an aux output on rear. just thought i would ask before having to take it out.

Best bet is to whip it out and check the connectors on the back and see if they are the same as the MkIV - from memory there are two connectors - one burgundy and one blue.

Make sure the system has fully powered down before removing it (takes two or three minutes for the red light to go out).

Think BBA-Reman fix or remanufacture ECUs and other electrical bits when they break.

Should be the same as an original unit, but just with their labels and part numbers.

Bottom line is, CD based unit is a MK3, DVD based is a MKIV. What does yours say on it, adjacent to the disk slot?

you can get a 2009/2010 or 2011/12 discs...the first one is a firmware and mapping upgrade the second is just the mapping....there are pirate discs available but we cant discus that here or the proper ones cost around £150 from dealers. ... - .- -.
