Sat Nav Screen Too Dim

As above on a 2008 Vogue.

Has been fine for the last 2 years but suddenly has gone dim.

It's still useable but seems to be getting slowly worse.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

On the odd occasion mine has had a mind of its own and displays dimmer or brighter than normal. But it's always fine on the next drive. I'm guessing there's an ambient light sensor which is supposed to adjust the brightness accordingly, but sometimes it gets it horribly wrong.

If you've not done so already, check the screen brightness in the settings menu, and check the dash board light dimmer is not tuned all the way down.

Hi Justin.

Already checked the brightness settings in the menu and the dashboard dimming. Both okay.

Do you know where the sensor is?

My guess is in the screen unit, but I've not really looked.

FYI the light sensor is above the navigation button in the top right corner.
