Keeping Insurance Costs Down

Along with all the comparison sites there is a lot of good information tips and tricks on www.moneysavingexpert.com

One thing that made a huge difference is job title. The site has a checker tool so you can find a legal alternative to any higher cost job titles.

I run my own estate agency but as the director I look after the property management more than anything else. Changing the job title from Estate Agent to Company Director saved £80 on a £580 premium and changing it again to Housing Supervisor lowered it by a further £30.

The more I can save the more I can spend on keeping the car ship shape.

Also remember not to over estimate your annual mileage, dropping down from 10k per year to 8k saved a further 10%. Tom

Just done both mine. 120 quid cheaper to keep them both on the street outside than in the garage, or the drive! They agreed that this is where they should be kept most of the time, but it is ok if I keep them in the garage or drive occasionally.

Also cheaper if I select no alarm, rather than factory fitted, but I didn't do that as I'm sure they could pull me up on it if I ever wanted to claim.

Job titles for me and the missus also saved me about 100 quid. We are both down as computer analysts, which we can both just about get away with Smile, although our jobs are very very different. We both analyse stuff occasionally using computers though. Never had insurance so cheap in the last few years ! Multi car policy from admiral.

cheaper if "kept on the street" and with "no alarm" ??? This doesn't make sense Question .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
