FFRR S/C VS. Mercedes GL500

I really want to change from my Range Rover Sport to a bigger SUV.
I saw last time a really nice car called Mercedes GL 500. Wink I love the power tailgate and the 7 seats.
But I love Range Rovers because it is an elegant car. (It only uses too much gas compared to the other SUVs. Wink)
Please, can you change my mind back to Range Rover. Bow down What it so special of a FFRR? Wink

Range Rover's are synonymous with wealth, prestige, intelligence, personality, and charisma ................

Why the F Censored k i have one beats me ......... Thumbs Up

But in all seriousness this being a FFRR forum could lead to a bit of bias on the FF's side granted the GL 500 is a lovely car on it's own merit you have the option of seven seats,Which can also be acheived with a conversion on the FF.

Plus the fact Merc engines are refined and have strong performance.

But just like any large SUV the Merc has high running costs as well, which can on certain items cost more than the FF , the GL500 can be a bit on the awkward side around town and quite cumbersome .......... plus on the GL500 you will get about 20 MPG on average around town that will drop to about 15 so i would say the Merc use's the most Gas.
RANGE ROVER TDV8 ==== MERCEDES GL500
Town mpg 19.6 ======= 15
Out of town mpg 30.7 ======= 26.6
Average mpg 25.4 ======= 20.8
Tank capacity (litres) 104.5 ======= 100
CO2 Rating (g/km) 294 ======= 317
% Value retained (3yrs/36000 miles) 40 ======= 30
Pence per mile 158p ======= £167p
Sevicing costs - 3 years £1,851 ======= £2,252
Service intervals 12000 ======= variable

Into the bargain no off-roader SUV has a more prestigious image than the Range Rover.

Drivers in a Range Rover don't look at a Merc and think "I WANT ONE OF THOSE " it's the other way around.

DID TELL YOU THERE WOULD BE A BIT OF BIAS THO ........... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It's really quite simple...... go and check out, compare and test drive the GL...... all will be very apparent after that.

Be honest the FFRR is more expensive than the GL. It is more luxury.

You have taste If you choose a Range Rover. Also, people who see Range Rovers think you are wealthy, sophisticated and awesome. Thumbs Up

If everyone who wanted the best had a FFRR they'd be rather common. Thumbs Up
So thankfully good taste is not universal and people buy all sorts of other pretenders to the throne. Whistle
