Maximum size tires on a 2012 with 20" wheels

As the title of the post suggest, I am curious how large I can go if I replace the stock tires on my 2012 FFRR. The OE 255/50 20's are 30.2" in diameter with a 9" tread width.

The choices for this size is very limited. Alternatively, there are several choices in the size 275/60 20. This size is 33" in diameter with a 9.2" tread.

Any thoughts? 2012 Range Rover HSE LUX

How large can you go without rubbing ? Or how wide can you go & keep the indicated speed true ?

305/45R20: About 2 inches wider than stock but only 0.8 inches taller.

285/50R20: This is 31.26 inches in diameter and 11.6 inches wide, and should fit quite well.

285/55R20: This size is about 32.5 inches in diameter and would be at the upper limit of fitting without vehicle modification.

Wouldn't the actual wheel width make a difference to choice of tyre width? Stan mentioned sport wheels are wider than standard FF wheels in another post.

Just wondering cos I want to fit wider tyres on my 8.5 wide 20 rims come renewal time. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

275/60R20 may fit... but there'll be a lot of rubbing, and you'll need a wheel that's more offset. I have 275/55R20 now and it just barely fits in. Have been offroading on these and driving up to the mountains the past few seasons and they've been fine.

275/55 R20 Cooper LTZ's fitted to my 2002 RR... its a close fit with only very occassional rubbing , but assuming the 2012 doesn't have significantly different wheel wells then you should be fine. V8 or else ...
