United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
To the Alps and back!

Took the TDV8 Vogue SE to the French Alps last week, the car was filled with 4 adults and associated Ski gear but managed to pamper us all the way. It was about 750 miles from our house to Les Carroz in the Grand Massif region (just south of Morzine) and luckily we didn't need snow chains (even though we had them on board)

The French Peage routes were sublimely smooth as you'd expect and the cruise control enabled us to coast down at 130KPH all the way. At night the two Mrs in the back watched a film and the silence was lovely! Very Happy

Sadly I don't have any great pictures of the car in the resort or near any snow because once we arrived it sat in the underground car park. It did get very dirty but the rain at home seems to have cleaned it somewhat.

It goes into the dealership next week to have a whole host of things tweaked and of course, for the alloys to be done. They are going to have a shock, I have a list of about 15 items to look at, some of which have LTB references against them, they won't know what hit them! Whistle

Overall the car averaged 24.7mpg over 1700 miles which I thought might be higher but other than that it ran smoothly and without incident the whole way, I even got to sit in the back and watch DVDs myself for a few hours too.

Sounds like fun. The alps are my favourite playground though I prefer them when the roads are hot and sticky. Razz

Don't suppose you could share the wisdom on the 15 'items to look at' could you? Especially the TSB bits........ Wink The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Sounds like you had fun Smile

I'd have expected the MPG to be a bit better - are you sure it was only 130kph? Twisted Evil FFRR TD6 06MY. Cairns Blue, Blue Hide. LR 7 Spoke 20" Wheels, S/C Grill and Vents. Privacy Glass and Side Steps

Doc,

Bizarely the car got cleaner! It really doesn't look like it did that journey at all. I went shooting today and it WOULD have got dirty had I not sat in my dad's all day. We all got stuck in a field so everyone else's cars were covered in mud and grass while mine sat in the farmyard staying clean(ish). Laughing

Dolphinboy,

The LTBs are specific to minor issues I want clearing up while my car is under warranty and as they have it in for a minimum of 3 days it seemed an ideal time to give them a list of things. I won't bore everyone here with them. Discovery 4 HSE
