Radio pixel repair

Hi all, my 2004 TD6 standard radio is missing some pixels on the digits (LCD) I bought myself a repair kit with a new ribbon that will fix the problem.. Is it a difficult to get the radio out? any advice/tips.. i am new too range rovers.
