rear view camera

The rear view camera on my rangie is imo poor and has low resolution, compared to my Prius(extremely bright and clear)

Obviously not that important, but if anyone could suggest a simple upgrade which involves very little work, I'd change it.

Who's to know though if its the poor camera or poor screen that at fault or both?

I'm just happy to have one but would be great if at night it turned into night vision. Discovery 4 HSE

Haven't got one of these fitted, so not too familiar with quality at night.

A few infra-red LEDS may help at night. I have an aftermarket rear view camera fitted to another car. There is an infra-red LED ring around the lens that makes anything out to about 10m seem like daylight (even with no ambient light or reversing lights!). Maybe wire some of these LED's into the reversing light circuit. They seem to work with most CCD's.

What the camera is really for

I send my wife into tesco with the venture cam and ring her, with my considered advice on what to buy which is displayed in front of me. Its not the best for reversing as the mirrors and beppy beepies do it all for you. Best toy ever!! Got my 06 Vogue Buckingham Blue, TD6 Supercharged vents and grille, 19 Vogue alloys. Got it today and very very happy!!!

Venture Cam tesco range

We got to Sainsburys at Cheadle and if I park outside the glass she can get to the beer!!! Its about say 30m. If you do it at Tescos in Prestwich though I would say you could get to the bread. Take her to the local shop my wife loves it. People think she is mad walking round on the phone with a star trek ray gun as one nine year old said!! Send the kids in with it, its a family entertainment centre!!!! Got my 06 Vogue Buckingham Blue, TD6 Supercharged vents and grille, 19 Vogue alloys. Got it today and very very happy!!!
