CTEK Multi MXS5.0 Battery Charger & Conditioner

While checking out battery chargers as my old Optimate II is getting a bit tempremental, mind you it is about 14 years old now. I found this on eBay.

CTEK Multi MXS5.0 Battery Charger & Conditioner delivered for £55-99.

Seems a bargain as it is even cheaper than the current group buy at

It was from a company called Allen Parts but i see they realised someone was buying a few of them on the cheap and have now changed their prices....

If its for your FF i would go for the 7 or 10 model as it will charge a lot faster a larger battery as the 5 is right on the limit for an FF battery as i have found out but i have mine removed from the car so i can live with it sitting in the garage for a day or two charging. Certainly kicks up a stink on bad batteries when on the recon cycle Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Kingpleb it looks like you got a great deal on yours and your right they definitely changed their prices as they want £75 now.

I was thinking about the 7 and 10 but to be honest I am not bothered about speed so much and the 5 is at a good price point.

I will be using it more to keep a motorbike battery in good condition and will only use the charger a couple of times a year on the RR. I have used my old Optimate II on my bike for years and every winter I would stick it on the RR now and then for a few days when the car was not in use to just condition the battery a bit. Seemed to work as I had that battery in my RR for 6 years and it never gave me any issues whatsoever.

Maybe give them a ring and see if they would honour it still as always worth a try Smile

IMO a 7 would be best for any use on an FF and I'd dissuade anyone from the 5.

Dont get me wrong it does the job, but my final intention is to be leaving it plugged in at night so I can run the FBH and not have to put a second battery in the car to ensure starting no matter how cold it gets and i think the 5 will just about do the trick as im betting the Park heat uses about 10amps of juice or more so it could just keep the battery upto level as I've noticed they suffer when they drop below 11v's for starting.

I'll be finally getting it rigged up with a rip cord to a C clamp into the ground so that i can drive off without having to uncouple it Smile Laziness it is indeed but also means should i actually forget it wont do any damage Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
