'Check Dipped Headlight Bulb'

Guys, any ideas ?
Only one headlight is working and getting the above message, have swapped the bulbs, just need to make sure I've covered all my options before booking into the local dealership.

Cheers

First things first;

Does it now work? if one of the bulbs is gone, replace it and then see what it says (assuming you didn't swap it from one side to the other)

If it works and its just a message on the dash I'd be inclined to ignore it, after a few resets, it's likely to go away on its own. Check the fuses too.

Thanks for the swift response, much appreciated.
I did swap the bulbs over and the 'non-working' bulb works on the other side, just very strange as speaking with the dealership they have stressed that Xenons don't usually fail and it is probably due to the main control unit.

Is it worth replacing the failed Xenon bulb before booking the vehicle in ?

Cheers

If the bulb that was not working then works on the other side, then its not the bulb. I have no idea how much xenon bulbs cost but I doubt they are cheap. It could be an electrical gremlin or as the dealer says, the control box.

Is the car under warranty still? If so, I'd be stating to the dealer that it says in the owners manual that 'xenon bulbs last considerably longer than halogen bulbs' and therefore why should you be finding an issue now. Discovery 4 HSE

Problem Solved, having spent a couple of hours out in the cold it was a loose connection on the back of the casing. Have cleaned with WD40 and all is working now.

Thanks for your help with this Wink
