Stolen Plates

Very strange thing but someone stole our number plates last night. Front and rear had been unscrewed and removed.
The bit that does not make sense is that they are sort of "cherished plates" so relatively distinctive. So not ideal for commiting crimes with.

BIG BIG bonus to Stratstones Mayfair getting some more plates made up in a matter of hours.
Not so big bonus waiting an hour for the police to turn up.

Guess we are in for a few months of speeding fines and congestion charge fees. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

So long as you informed the police, thats the main thing. It maybe worth calling the dvla just to let them know as well.
They could have a ringer and try and punt it out on the cheap. or even take it abroad.

I would to be on the safe side.
I hope you don't get to much hassle from these to55ers. Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

But I don't understand why you would steal distinctive plates, rather than an anonymous normal plate.

(Its not quite single single standard plate, but it is a perfect spelling of a name) *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

Well after hearing that low life scum in England ( you can't call it Great Britain any more) are looting homes that have been flooded, the fact that some tw!t has stolen number plates does not surprise me in the least!

Its the colour and model of the car that is important not your plate. As the stolen car swans about with your plates on, en-route to the port. Ian

The VRM on the plates is irrelevant.
A similar looking car to yours has been (or is about to be) stolen and is likely to be used in the commission of further crime.
What you need to do NOW is place something (like an easy to spot sticker) in both your front & rear windows.
If you are keeping the same VRM, get ready for some positive police action courtesy of both static & mobile ANPR cameras.
The stickers placed on by you will hopefully separate your car from the stolen vehicle when it comes to any enforcement.
You may want to consider changing your VRM permanently.
Tell the police about the stickers so they can update the Police National Computer (PNC).
Can't see a problem in the police taking an hour to come to you ? - it wasn't an emergency.

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Ideal opportunity to fit two full fat stickers Thumbs Up
The tea leaves might have them on a student digs wall but more likely to be used in London than as a getaway/ram raid TDV8 Vogue SE 2009.

An hour? That's good. At least police turned up! Some (if not all now) forces won't normally attend Theft From Motor Vehicle incidents these days unless there's something for CSI to obtain( blood, saliva, fingerprints/ DNA from tools left behind) I know my force don't as resources are stretched to breaking point.

Not right I know, but that's the reality.

Okay, I was a bit harsh on the police. An hour is not too bad, and they were polite. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE
