Finally, a free mod

Yesterday I took my rear sill plates off and removed the black viny, this looks much better... top tip Craig I haven't done the fronts as I managed to get a bit of a bargain and found some brand new genuine 2010 LR illuminated sill plates with the Range Rover logo which I will fit in the next few weeks I'm hoping the rears with the tape removed match the fronts relatively well.... anyway here's a few photo's

I also changed my foundry finish handbrake lever for the walnut one I originally wanted..... again an ebay bargain, I got it for £45 so a bit cheaper than Powerful UK



Now I have the following to possibly do:-

- Replace the foundry rear console for a walnut one (possibly) - not sure if it would be too much walnut in the rear or not?
- Replace my front sill plates with the new illuminated LR ones including wiring into the foot well lights.
- Add titan silver bumper bar.
- Change my lettering to titan silver
- Pixel repair and possibly white LED backlighting (not sure about the LED back light)
- Get the corrosion on the upper tailgate repaired

I added some details on how I did it in the 'maintenance and modification section' however here's a few photo's of the finished article:-

They seem to be working fine and going out with all other interior lights and no issues with flashing when the doors are open and the engine is running

Overall they look very good and are a massive improvement over the old scuffed front ones.... definitely a massive step up The LED's are a tad dimmer than they could be (as others have stated previously). All in all I'm chuffed, particularly given the price I paid for them ...... had I spent the full £350 + VAT which Land Rover want for them not sure I would have been so pleased though.

Do like them plates

One of my rear heated seat switches was not lighting up green when the headlights were on so I wanted to change it for one which was fully operational. While I was at it I thought I may as well upgrade the slightly tacky looking foundry rear console fascia for a walnut effect one from Powerful UK. Powerful didn't have the actual veneer one in stock so the one I've fitted is just printed walnut effect but it looks really good and matches in with the real stuff and my upgraded window packs and door pull surrounds perfectly

This is a horribly fiddly job and I let out a swear word or two during my time fitting it Anyway here's the results.














I also swapped out my black bumper bar for a titan silver one
