Are insurance companies really stating that the majority of people don't work and therefore automatically don't cover commuting? Thud

Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black

I've just insured a car online this morning via moneysupermarket and the generic application process. They all had SDP as stand alone... and commuting to and from normal place of work was something that required additional selection for an additional premium.

Insurance Con? Adding a temporary additional car with my current insurer was £60 odd for 4 weeks! So I took an annual pay monthly policy with another company @ £17/month and will cancel when no longer required.
