iPod Not Charging via iPod connection

Hi,

My iPod does not charge via the iPod interface on my MY11.5.

The iPod cable looks to be an original 8X2T-14588-AA.

I've tried it on a couple of different iPods, an iPhone 3G and also an iPhone 5C (by way of 30pin to Lightning connector).

Musics and track selection all works from the Steering Wheel, but just no charging. Any ideas why ?

Many thx

Have you tried fully backing up then resetting the ipod back to factory settings on your PC via Itunes?...worth a try as its easy. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

Does it not charge any of what you've tested?

Hi, not sure if this will help, but I keep getting the not charging message on my Ipod, at first I thought that it was the Grom unit I had fitted to connect it the car. But its turned out to be the Ipod.
Apple installed some software, during an update, to encourage the use of Apple accessories and not third party. The net result is a warning when you connect the Ipod that your not charging, this is because the Ipod is not seeing the correct resistance on the data lines. But in most cases if you ignore the warning it will still charge the unit but not show the fact.
I have been using mine for a few days and it doesn't seam to have dropped in battery level despite telling me its not charging. If you have just done a system update on your Ipod this may be the cause of your worries, and if your lucky your Ipod will maintain its battery levels despite "not charging".
