Tints

Although the car came with Privacy glass , at the time i got extra aftermarket tints added to the front and rear windows.

Are these easy to remove and what stuff do you need to take them off, or would i have to put the car into some place if i thought of getting them took off ....

i'm in the process of having mine done mick ..i mentioned that i might like to have my front sides done and he said this would be illegal and i might have to take them off [if caught by the police], when i asked how ,he said with a hairdryer which will soften the glue and allow me to peel the film off, then you clean the window with an ammonia solution. ... - .- -.

The rear sides are still as dark but it's mostly the actual tailgate window that looks as if it's fading ( not much mind you still cannot see in the boot from outside )

as you might be upgrading and obviously selling yours a kinda think that limo tints might not be to everyone's taste so i can see your logic in removing them. ... - .- -.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Hi,

Recently had tints done on mine, B pillar rearwards smoked tint. Thought long and hard about getting front windows done. However given that the Police are getting hotter and now have metres for checking (although illegal front tints are easy to spot) I only got the rears done.

The decision about a Police warning was not the reason though, it was actually that your insurance is invalid, so any minor accident the person only has to get the Police of evidence of your front tints and you've had it.

For info, mines a SC and had the front factory tint checked, it was 83% on the laminated glass; if i added the lightest tint he had to it it went down to 47%.

So my view, yes it does look much better done but not woth the risk, anyway you soon get used to just the rears.

Regards If its not broke now it soon will !!!
