I had it regassed, it appears to have pressure, it just doesn't change much when turned on. That said I am not sure what the pressure should be. Hence my request for somebody with a working one to check.

its a no-brainer to get it regassed, because, (at least they used to) they guarantee that if it doesn't get colder by about 4 degress. its free. also, if you need a condenser, because of no gas pressure, and leak etc. they are about £90 on ebay. if you need the pump, they are on ebay for about £225 new both not the hardest things to change, but I did mine and removed water rad at same time. the gas also has a lube in it.

It did have a leaky condenser, which was changed. I then had it regassed. It held the vacuum but they had trouble regassing it and afterwards it wasn't getting colder so I wasn't charged. I have got a spare compressor but want to check the pressures with known good ones before paying to have it changed. I can't think what else it can be.

I have found it, it looks like you were seeing about 15-16 when turned on, but still no values for when it was off. Thanks very much though, half way there.

is your pump clutch engaging? you might see it spin up when turned on. with a torch placed. -mind your hands on the belt though. |

Yes it is engaging, the pressure does change slightly and it can be seen to be engaging.

Looking for answers off this post, my system was gassed perfectly last summer and has worked well up until now. My Gap tool reads 6.5 , I presume that’s psi, so maybe low, that’s why I on this thread to see exactly what pressure should be there. I cannot find the the link by Katash to see the pressures posted by himself , that’s why I am on here. Halfords will not let me have a refill can as my compressor is not turning , so my call to them is that by charging the system with the can this will start the compressor , their gauge shows low .... but ? I have a manifold system to monitor gassing in and in the past I have used these cans to restart the compressors, so I am a bit stuck unless I do some ground work. So pressures please! |
