That BM must be on studs!!

I find that video most amazing. Having owned a fair few Subaru's I was always very impressed by their ability in the snow & ice - even on worn summer tyres. The last H6 Outback made my Defender on GG AT2's look absolutely rubbish so god knows how an M3 can beat one Shocked

Check this clip to see how good winter tyres are. Best idea would be winter tyres and four wheel drive.

 2010 3.6TDV8 Stornoway Grey/ Black interior - gone
2005 4.4V8 (M62) Bonatti Grey/ Parchment interior - gone
1998 4.6HSE Blue/ Cream interior (can't remember exact colours) - gone
1977 White - gone (should have kept)

Why does everyone - who hasn't got them - refuse to believe they make a difference Rolling Eyes

That video is more ice than snow, so the sipes on the winter tyres make a hell of a difference.

His other video is more snowy and against a RWD car - Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

Is right. The world seems split into those like me and many other, who have tried them and would never go back. And everyone else who thinks they are a waste of time and money. Graham

All depends on the weather you frequent, I need them if only for a couple of weeks a year, and getting less, nothing last year......could have happily got by on summers all year Thumbs Up

I am a bit of a non believer (in winter tyres), only because on snow and ice FFRR just goes where I tell it to go on my Nexens & General ATs.

Sufficient for my needs I guess, given we don't have prolonged periods of snow and ice. .

Joe my point exactly I am on GG ATs and have no need for anything else. Live on an exposed hill and have been snowed in a couple of times. I cant see the need ( IMHO ) for 2 sets of wheels/tyres. Always got the quad if I get really stuck Rolling with laughter

There seems to be loads of videos on the tube comparing winter tyres v summer tyres, would love to see one comparing winter tyres with an all terrain such as grabber at or cooper ltz etc.

Each to their own - I don't need them - I'm sure I could get by on my summer tyres too - but why try to justify that choice by assuming they don't work, or the tests / reviews are somehow loaded

I'm sure the guy in the Subaru in the 1st video doesn't need them - he made it up the hill.....

Or the Skoda in Drakes video - he stopped.....

AT's are good in snow, but awful on ice (and cold wet roads) Thumbs Up

See you all dont get it

Forget SNOW these are winter tyres NOT snow tyres.

Yes all good premium tyres will perform OK in winter however its the edge that the Winter Tyre gives you when it rains cold damp (Typical British Winter).

If you tried them them its fine to say no however most have not. I know every person I've fitted winter tyres to is an absolute convert.

Oh and if it does snow I use the 535 as its great going past all the stuck 4wds Rolling with laughter

However your choice

Yes, the cars you mostly see sliding around in ski resorts are British registered 4*4's on the wrong tyres. I used to pass plenty in my RWD BMW.
