as far as i know i dont think it is a feature for the lights to come on with the wipers and not on when you do a sweep of the windscreen, i dont have auto on my one but does it do the same if the lights are on the off posisition. does your rain sensor work as normal....

Chill.

All cars with auto headlights and wipers do this. It is a safety feature as when it is raining, it is generally darker. Gets you seen better in these conditions.

I have always done this manually over the last 22 years of driving - less chance of having a bump through someone not seeing you in the rain. Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

but it dont sound right to put the lights on for just a windscreen wipe, it would be all over before the xenon lights have even come on.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I know, it's daft - isn't it? Shocked

No different to driving through a tree lined avenue with auto lights on. Xenon constantly on and off without running up to colour temperature.

I wouldn't worry about it mate. Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

The headlights don't come on just after a wipe - it takes like 3 minutes of wiping for the lights to turn on. My other cars including the Disco 3 had this too...

Sorry to disagree with you but as soon as i activate a wipe with the wipers the headlights automatically come on there is no 3 minute wait ............

OK maybe one minute, but surely not after the first 2-3 wipes!

I have now checked many times and the lights DO NOT come on when I use the wash/wipe in my 2007 TDV8 with Auto Lights.
