@peekay, AFAIK you cannot negotiate the price of the LR "Approved" or the "Select" warranties. They are set annual prices sold directly via LR or via franchised LR dealerships obo LR.

You can opt out of the roadside assistance cover which can save £150/200 per yer and you can - I think - pay monthly "on interest free" as opposed to paying a lump sum up front.

Monthly payments interest free for such a warranty is a good feature because should you decide to sell the car you can simply terminate and stop paying without penalty (without trying to claw back what warranty cover payments you have made and won't benefit from); and if selling privately you can also sell the car with the warranty in place which is transferable to a new owner for a nominal admin fee.

Opinions vary but we've found both category of LR warranty to be hassle free and well worth the money and that is based on having continuous LR warranty cover for the past 8 years, albeit on differing vehicles.

Thumbs Up

I'd say it was good peace of mind but pretty pointless. The warranty team will spend a while going through what's covered but you'll fork out £100 diagnostic fee which you get back if the part is covered.
It also disappointed me greatly when I found out it's not actually directly with Land rover it's with another company that are frankly rude.
Saying that wouldn't be without! Air suspension went in my friends in the USA and it cost around $6k to fix.
If you can afford the larger items don't bother with it put the saved money towards fuel!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

Had Warranty Wise on my last 322 so went for a quote on my recently acquired 2010 TDV8 with 75K on the clock..

no mileage limit
max £3K repairs limit
£100 excess
£50ph labour limit (my indy charges that with the vat)
air bags, air con, emission failure, mot failure and turbo covered etc

1 year £744.00
2yrs £1206.00
3 yrs £1645.00

had my quote a month ago - still dithering but since then have had a string of emails from WW offering 10% off or 15% off or three months extra free etc etc so would assume I could go back to them for an even better deal.

Not sure if these figures quoted are reasonable yet but had cause to claim twice on my old fatty and WW sorted them both without any issues. these claims totalled £1500 so I suspect they were not classed as major but nonetheless the service was good. and I was not even asked for my excess contribution!! 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus
93 RR Classic efi

Remember it's easier to get forgiveness than permission!

Gone in order:
4.4 TDV8 SE - gone to a good home
93 Classic hard dash Plymouth Blue
03 L322 Oslo Blue
2000 Disco TD5 ES Epsom Green
98 P38 Rioja Red

Really, when did they change that (to 120/-m)?
Was still 100/- when I bought my warranty in Late August.

Great news if they have upped it to 120/- 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I have Landrover approved. Its the only one i would have.
I claimed last week or Stratstone's did on my behalf
Needed a new FBH system £1000
Needed new fuel pump for it.

It must have cost a small fortune with the labour car was in for 3 days.
No questions from the warranty company

Up for renewal in March i will be renewing. Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

We're into our second year of LR Select warranty and so far are subscribed to a 3rd year.

I get exactly why Jayboy is erring on a preference to the slightly more expensive LR 'Approved' one, although the 'Select' warranty has also, in our experience, been first class and more than worth the annual premium (until a few months ago the 'Approved' LR warranty could not be had for our particular car anyway).

I do sometimes wonder if a little more good will is perhaps extended by LR and/ or your chosen LR dealer if they know you're a loyal customer, both to the franchise and to 'the brand' by means of investing in the LR extended warranty.

Maybe's aye maybe's no' , just some thoughts Thumbs Up
