Replacement rear bumper reflectors with LEDs in black smoked

Hi gang,

While looking for a genuine replacement rear reflector for my 2012 Vogue I came upon these afermarket black reflectors/led brakelights.

I'd like to know if anyone has fitted them (either "as is" or actually connected) as they would allow to get rid of the red in the back and visually smooth the rear bumper. I have seen the various dedicated threads, but there are no pics of them fitted in black.

So please drop pics of your L322 back with them fitted Thumbs Up

I have seen these, no good to my silver car, BUT is its purpose to be reflective, when car is off, ie parked? Would it technically be MOT fail able? I've seen golfs and hot hatches with all-black lights and wondered about their legality. At a certain year reflectors were made compulsory. With a minimum size.
Sorry to be boring.

I bought a set of clear ones yesterday. Don't think they act as reflectors, but as auxiliary lighting...

I'll let you know when they tur up Thumbs Up

Rear reflectors are mandatory, certainly in the UK, if you fit them you will need to fit additional "E" marked reflectors elsewhere,

Indeed and Craig smartly recommander to add orther smaller reflector lower down on the suspension Arm or tow bar if one fits aftermarket LED units as they do not seem to offer any reflection.

I could also simply lightly smoke an second set orginal/aftermarket reflectors and keep the original one handy just in case. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

mine being a SC white clear rear light units, these or the clear ones would blend in nicely..now what can we do about the 'red' 3rd brake light. ... - .- -.

You may either tint it or "smoke" it if the L322 is black or Bonatti, spray it a mix of original body paint and clearcoat (that's a light tint), smash the red part and keep the led strip.. or leave it alone (I would!)

Anyway, below are a few pics from when Plastidip came this side of the pond a few years ago and we played with it - sorry for the crappy pics.

Unfortunately, the reflectors now loook really small and this may explain why LR made them so wide. Neutral

The Euro laws apply in France and UK all the same, so I guess so but then the reflector is indeed tempered with, so not 100% legal I reckon.

I only left this for a day or two to test the PD. Ditto with the coating on the rear Llghts. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Might also be worth noting that there is a minimum size/area for reflectors, although I don't know the exact sizes, The aftermarket ones that are E marked meet the min requirements , round ones are @40mm dia, would spoil the looks IMO

It's so easy to think that what you can buy and fix to your car might not be street legal. People move number plates, but not the light, silly fonted reg plates etc. then find plod on their tail. I nearly thought I could add xenon lights to a car I had in the past, because I saw them for sale!, I see people fitting FF front lights to p38's and hope that they used the non xenon type. why take the risk! Don't encourage the Plods' target driven tactics.

I went with a genuine replacement reflector from my local dealer so will not go further with this, but feel free to comment with experience feedback please. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l
