new owner / couple of niggles

I collected my 2010 4.4 tdv8 yesterday and so far really loving it, it feels quicker than I thought and quicker than my old bm 730d which I traded in.

I do have a couple of niggles I would like to sort out.

The glass in the divers side wing mirror wobbles slightly at high speed (don't ask how fast Shocked ) So I think the glass needs taking out and clipping back on. I'm a bit worried about breaking the glass or making things worse though.

The door over the fuel cap opens as normal but has to be held open whilst refuelling. I presume a spring or part of the hinge has broken. I also noticed that once the car is locked the latch locks the fuel cap door as expected but it doesn't feel that secure. There's still quite a bit of play in it and certainly doesn't feel as secure as the bmw I had. Is this a design fault or does it sound broken.

finally, this is my fault, I picked the car up in nearly new dark blue jeans. My 4 hour drive home has resulted in dye transfer to my ivory leather. I am just off to Halfords to inspect the leather cleaning products. The upside to this is I get an excuse to go for another drive Very Happy 2010 4.4 tdv8 - black / ivory

Not sure if it is the same procedure on the 2010MY but on my 2002MY you simply lever up the mirror glass from below (use two levers to spread the load, and it slides/pops out of its holders (4). If wobbly likely the backing plate is loose n its motors/fixings.

Sounds like the filler cover has seen "some action" on the hinge. Find another FFRR to compare, check with Ducky Dan on the forum for replacement price or take to dealer ( Shocked ) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

When I am ready to buy something (I just use a damp cloth from warm slightly soapy water at the moment), I think the Furniture Clinic products look good Thumbs Up

Enjoy the car Very Happy

Bloody rear numberplate fell off tonight Censored

It's a new plate as the previous keeper had it on a cherished number.

It looks like the dealer drilled two holes in the plates and through the back of the car and forgot to put the screws in. There was a minimal amount of sticky substance that held it in place temporarily but it came off when I shut the boot.

I have used 2 screws for now but they weren't a perfect fit.

Daft thing is it looks like there are 2 perfectly good factory drilled holes in a more central position that they could have used. 2010 4.4 tdv8 - black / ivory
