Engine Check Light

Hi All, I have had the oil service light showing for a few weeks and today the Engine check light came on. Can these be related ? Are our vehicles sophisticated enough to put on a light if I have ignored the oil service or is this likely to need a plug in. Thanks Mick.

Don't worry that was first on the list, any messages connected to oil ring a big bell inside my head. I have a oil and filter change planned but the weather has been freezing, lol.

AFAIK the two are not related, engine light comes on when there is an error with something that effects emissions.... Pete

Shouldn't do if it's set up properly, emissions would be lower on LPG anyway...

You will need to get the fault code read, should be able to do it with any OBD2 reader, although my cheap one will read faults it won't clear them so bought an IID tool and it paid for itself in a very short period of time.... Pete

It is either running lean or rich and has reached the point where the ECU can't trim the fuel delivery back to 'normal'. Can you read the fuel trim values with you FCR? 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
