in warranty but still need to pay ?

So it turns out that my 3yr 2mth old FF needed a front air sack, no problem its under LR approved warranty but when I went to pick it up after it was fixed I was told that the air sack replacement is covered but i would have to pay for 1/2 hrs labour for checking the air pipes to make sure they are ok, I presume this was on initial inspection of the problem. So why should I pay. I have paid for a warranty and its not my blumin fault that a 38 month old car is dropping to bits.
Cant help thinking they are taking the mick on this one.
This is a main dealer by the way.

Its not unusual, for them to ask for the diagnosis charge, but i think it does show bad will on their part especially on a car just out of MFR warranty, i have been asked for it in the past but have refused to pay as it was me pointed out to them what was wrong......

I would get onto LR customer service via here and see if there is something they can do to assist. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

I was always told that you have agree to pay the fault inspection/ diagnosis fee if not covered under warranty but if covered under warranty there will be no charge.

Not so much of a warranty question more of a general why should I be charged for looking for a fault type of question. The reason I put it in general section is that this section seams to be hidden from view. Or at least that's what I found, which is why I couldn't find it. Thanks anyway.
