FBH ( please don't shoot me )

Hi,

I have read through all the posts on this 'invented by the devil thing' to no avail, In one last attempt before pulling the fuse I have now decided to remove it get it serviced and send the PCB off to French Mike to be tested / repaired,

On reading the many posts on here I see you can remove the FBH and complete the 'water circuit' with some pipes? To allow the vehicle to be used whilst waiting for the PCB to be returned,

Now my question is how do I connect the said pipes as I cannot find any pictures etc to explain this ( and I need them believe me ) do I need some 15mm copper pipe or something else , I would like to get this all in place for when I remove the part so I can quickly plumb it back up,

Also what do you use to 'bung' the fuel line ?

Yes just a bit of copper pipe with a couple of jubilee clips. Can't remembef if it was 15mm or 22mm.
I used a bit of wood to plug the fuel pipe but allegedly you don't need anything as it only works when the unit is fired !!

I found it easier to fit a loop of pipe to the pipes in the engine compartment rather than trying to fit something to the pipes where the FBH resides. Pipe size is an odd size as well. I ended up using some 16mm diameter steel tubing bent in the shape of a U. Use a couple of brake pipe flexi clamps to clamp the pipes off then you don't loose too much coolant.
Fitting a new old stock unit tomorrow.
Fuel pipe can be bunged up as Steverr mentioned.
Have you an email or web address for French Mike, as I might get the old board repaired.

Removed the loop already otherwise could have taken a picture to show you.
If you look into the engine compartment you will see a bunch of pipes clipped to the nearside inner wing. Follow them until you find two of them connected to the fittings that take the coolant through to the FBH.
A bit awkward to get to but more room for a U bend than in the FBH compartment.

Well finally got round to getting the FBH removed,

just sent PCB off to French Mike to see what he makes of it.... Thumbs Up
