SDV8 vs TDV6

I'm seriously considering changing my L322 for a used L405.

I do about 20k miles a year, so some fuel saving is part of my man maths to justify the change Whistle

That said, I do about 70% motorway and 30% A-roads - so I'm very tempted to go with the TDV8

For those who have spent significant time with both engines - how did you find they compare ?

On my second V6 and I am returning 37-40 mpg with a 50/50 mix of roads driven, I love it.

The dynamic suspension in the V8 is rather good. I thought about the V6 and wet V8 in the end.

If you don't get the V8 you will always suffer from V8 benis envy Wink

On a more serious note a rather wealthy friend who moved from a 322 TDV8, bought a new L405 SDV6, he ditched it after 6 months and px'd it for the TDV8 as he was disappointed with the smaller engine and its power delivery / torque band 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Be careful not to confuse the TDV6 in the L405 with the SDV6 in the L494.

Hi I have the SD V8 in Australia I get on average at 110 klm, about 8.4 litres per hundred KLM not bad for a large heavey SUV!
The V8 power is just fantastic plus plenty of torque for towing.
Go the V8 you will love it.
