Car Parking Sensor Issue

hello

i have a 2007 TDV8 Vogue.

In the last couple of weeks I have started to notice a problem with my parking sensors. For some reason the light on button on the centre console flashes and all I hear is an elongated beep and regardless of how close I am to objects I am no longer getting the proximity beeps.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be up? Is it a common fault, or is there something I could do to test the system?

I had wondered if where i had recently used polish on the body i had not removed it all, With this in mind i went around to all sensors with a microfibre to make sure it had all been removed, but the issue is still the same.

Help please? Confused

Sounds like a duff sensor or damage wiring. If you have a fault reader it may tell you which one is duff. If not put sensors on and listen to each sensor. As you get close to with your ear you should hear it click quietly. If they click the sensor is fine. This should help narrow down the problem. If more than one is duff maybe wiring loom. I had a problem with the rear loom on an 06.

Edit. This post has some details. http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic3366.h...eck+cheque

Thanks for the information. i went around all of the sensors and none of them are clicking.

I have the car in for a service on Wednesday, so I will ask them to check it out.

Thanks for the information, it is really appreciated

Or you sit in the car with the sensors activated, then get someone to put their hand in front of each sensor in turn. Being activated should make the constant beep become the usual beep beep until you reach the duff one(s) Discovery 4 HSE

Edited due to below:

Loom seems likely and easy to replace at the back.

Front loom cannot just replace as its part of the main harness...
