Quick bluetooth fix

Hi all,

Just thought I'd share this for those looking for a quick Bluetooth fix for their FFRR.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ion-Bluetooth-Cass...B00I3YLHAC

You pop the cassette in the cassette player, and it allows you to stream music via BT and make handsfree calls.

Works a treat for me.

Looks good.

How long does the battery last? Does your phone pair automatically or do you have to pair it each time?

Do any FFs have a cassette player?

If I did would be interested as nobody seems able to assist with teh factory system. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

I've used it a few times and the battery has lasted ok so far - it comes with a USB charger but not had to use it yet.

It pairs automatically as soon as the car is turned on.

The early ones have an 8 track behind the screen. Hang on..... No..... It's a cassette deck.

Dare not put any tape in mine as I imagine the rubbers are all perished and I don't want any hifi issues..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Got mine, sound quality very good for what it is. Thumbs Up

Says on the cassette for best results to insert cassette with power switch in the off position. My phone wouldn't connect, had to have it switched on.

Only problem, the microphone lead is not long enough. No worries, take it apart, undo all screws, hold it together, turn it over to the side that says this side up, then carefully remove top half of cassette (do this otherwise all the cogs come away and you won't know where they go! ) The mic lead is in an "anti-pull" loop. release it and you get another couple of inches. Cut a small slit using a craft knife near the exit point and feed the mic lead through this instead. (Remember not to tug on it now!) reassemble and now the mic lead happily hangs over the front of the screen.

Next job to see how to connect a charger lead when the cassette is in-situ, either by moving the female further into the cassette if there is room, or doing some bodger damage to the cassette hole in the car (have to disconnect battery to stop the screen going back every 15 seconds!)

Anyway, a good alternative bluetooth fix for older FFRRs, many thanks to thatgirl101 Thumbs Up .

Easy fix for those without cassette player, remove factory head unit and fit an 80s cassette player in there!
