the drivers side headlight is fine the glass dome clear but passenger side has a 2 mill ridged line across the centre is this norm as was getting flashed and checked beam and its throwing light up on beam tester as a LHD pattern, wheres the part number to check

from memory there should be a sticker on the underside of the light unit..

Do they have facility to convert them?
Remembered reading this recently as I'm looking at a France trip also but need to check if my lights have the levers.

The levers for touring, don't actually convert the lamps from LH to RH drive. They just operate shutters across the tops of the beams to cut off the bit that would dazzle oncoming motorists.

If you park a RHD car square in front of a wall and put the headlights on, you'll see the beams have a slope to the tops of them, starts high on the left and goes down to the right.
If you do the same with a LHD car the beam does exactly the opposite.

Flicking the lever on either of them, just makes the tops of the beams flat, they wont dazzle motorists when driving on the wrong side, but they wont light up the kerb side of the road when driving on the correct side either.

It might get you through an MOT by flicking the lever, but you'll just have mediocre headlights all the time as half the beam is missing.
