worrying noise on switch off

My 55 Reg 4.2 V8 SC makes an odd noise when I turn off the ignition. This is a long (few seconds) soft groaning farty type noise. should I be worried? Other wise all is fine with the Car and I just love it Question

Where from??

The suspension will sometimes level itself after you have got out and shut the door, it makes a hissing type noise, perfectly normal... Pete

My 07 used to do this. It was one of the heater flaps closing apparently, something that happens when the blend motors park themselves. Took the dealer a couple of hours to fix it. If it sounds like it's coming from behind the dash it could be the same thing. Not terminal but rather irritating

thanks for the replies guys, good to know its not terminal,

in response to RRUK, NO its not a passenger , I asked SWMO if it was herself, she was not impressed. Evil or Very Mad
she suggested if it was anybody it was the driver , but no its not me

Yes it is coming from behind the dash as MZPLCG suggested. Its going into TAGGARTS up here tomorrow so I will speak to them about it. (Don't fancy two hours of their labour rates though!! )

I can understand the heater flap thing but what are the blend motors you refer to??

Blend motors control the heater flaps so the climate control works automatically.

they open and close flaps to mix, 'blend' heated air with cold air to control the temperature in the car.

Thanks again
It might be trivial but, working on the theory that it does not make that noise when working correctly then some thing is not working correctly! I suppose if I leave it then it might get worse and eventually stop doing what it supposed to do, e.g. blending.

As I don't know of an independent specialist up here (yet) I might have to bite the bullet and pay for Mr. Taggarts next round of drinks at the Golf Club, probably several rounds when I think about it
