L405/L494 : Two sets of wheels and TPMS question

Hi

In a nutshell, an acquaintance has just purchased a 2015 SE V6 diesel L494 sport that comes with 19' wheels

He is interested in my 2014 Genuine 22s but we do not know if/how to set the TPMS to his Sport. Local dealers do not want to ear about it (since they are not selling the wheels I reckon)

Does anyone have experience in have 2 sets of wheels on one L405/L494? I know there is a code inside the alloy/TPMS, but ideally, let's avoid taking them apart.

LR dealers say they cannot disable the TPMS.

I was told the easiest way is to get the TPMS from the 19 and have them fitted to the 22, still not the easiest of jobs.

Any help welcome – I am sure we are not the only ones with this question or owners willing to have a summer and winter sets (LR says it has to be recalibrated every time at a 200 euros fee!)

PS: I do own a IID tool (BT) so this could be an option it the tool lets me disable his TPMs altogether (though the dealer says doing say will have effect on other electronic gizmoz...) l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I would expect it to be the same system & therefore they should work.

I was told by my dealer that the L405 recognises new valves after a short distance, but my car doesn't have TPMS anyway - not sure if it wasn't ordered with it, or whether the previous owned disabled it - but happy either way as I had nothing but problems on my L322 until I disabled it.

He's buying your wheels ? If so, worst case he will get an error message on the drive home - then will have to swap the valves over at some point - assuming he's keeping his 19's for a while.

Would need to buy an additional vehicle licence for the IID (Dan sells those Thumbs Up )

Well I purchased a second set of wheels which did not have TPMS valves, bought four valves and another wheel with TPMS. Swapped wheels about with abandon and just recognised the valves. Threw up an error code when I had two wheels in the back with TPMS. (The new spare and the original). So it should just recognise TPMS valves. If you fit std valved wheels then be prepared to drive with a yellow warning triangle in the dash.
