Auto wipers wiping on start

I had a new screen installed by Autoglass the other day (insurance company insisted I use them).

All good. Surprisingly.

Except now my auto wipers sweep the screen once every time I start the car.

Anyone know why they might be doing this? They also seemed a bit reluctant to wipe in light rain.

Have you got LR branded glass?

My wipers tend to do that if I leave them with the stalk in the 'one up' position (Auto). Have you made sure your sensitivity is on the desired setting too?

Yes I did get OE glass. I insisted.

My wipers didn't used to do it. I have always left them in the auto on position.

I tried fiddling with the sensitivity when they were being lazy but it didn't seem to make much difference. I might put them back to min to see if that makes a difference.

Have a look at the rain sensor module and see if the alignment is correct. Also if there is no dirt or anything in its view. It sounds like it is not seeing well due to angle or dirt. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Mine occasionally does this if left on, I am guessing due to the the signal being sent but car switched off before the action could take place? Not every start though. (and not an L405 either!) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
