Removing electric deployable side steps

Hi, I'm considering buying a 2007 TDV8 vogue that has electric deployable side steps.
I'm not into this accessory at all.

3 questions:
- Does it create any issues if i remove them?
- Do I have to add any pieces back (to fill holes or other).
- Any idea if there's a market for selling these and how much these would be worth?

Thanks for your insights! 2008 TDV8 VOGUE - Buckingham Blue on Sand

they can easily be unplugged and unbolted but not on a hoist as they get in the way.
you will have the two power / control leads to the motors to tie up unless you remove the harness, then use grommets to block the hole I guess.
the issue with DSS of this age is they are effectively a consumable item as they do wear out if not well maintained
as to prices, I recently bought a complete new set bnib for I think it was £700 so it's doubtful there will be a big price for second hand units. it may be an option to leave them in your garage and refit when you sell the car on as some find them desirable and others find them a pia.

I asked the same question when I bought my L405 with the hateful things fitted.

I ended up deciding that removing was just too much hassle - they cam be easily switched off, so that's what I did and left them in place.

For me, and I don't want to offend anybody, it's only my personal view but since you ask, they make me feel I either have a car that is targeted to a handicapped person or to a very short one or to a very lazy one. I can very well get in my car without them and my kids have gotten into Range Rovers, Discoveries & Defenders since they were 5 or less without assistance Smile 2008 TDV8 VOGUE - Buckingham Blue on Sand

If you do decide to remove and sell, I might be interested in buying these from you. Of course you are fully entitled to your opinion. You know what they say, one mans trash is another's treasure Rolling with laughter

Feel free to PM me closer to the time.
