My 03 Vogue HSE at Billing 15

Don't you occasionally think "what happened to my old RR" well at Billing this year I spotted my old Giverney Green HSE, It was a Land Rover replacement for my 02 Zambezi silver RR which had paintwork issues which were never resolved to my satisfaction thus they reluctantly agreed to order up another. The Giverney green colour choice was unsighted in the flesh so i was left to go on photos and brochure colour. After the plastic came off at the dealership I was made up with the choice. Living with it was great it didn't show the muck and sparkled after a wash and polish I sold it to an Audi dealership in peterborough (with the original 18" wheels and a set of 19" wheels in the rear, which was a mistake as it turned out the Audi garage wasn't expecting the larger wheel set). In my tenure it was spoiled £100 pots of wax, garaged and not used for commuting sadly after 2 steering column failures and an air suspension pump I lost faith even though it was covered by warranty and bought a hot Audi estate which disappointed straight out of the box and I sold it 3 months later losing much cash in the deal for a Porsche Cayenne. Years on I recognised that the L322 was my type of vehicle and now I have two. But seeing KX03 MLL at billing brought a tear with the memories of touring in France, my sadly departed labrador sat in the back anticipating his run around Rutland water and my fishing trips around Lincs. The gold plated wax did its job the paintwork today still looks fresh and infinitely better than my Oslo blue 04. I thought about leaving a note on the windscreen but took this photo instead. Happy motoring to the present custodian.

Nice Story,

mine is the other way around. I first saw my G4 Challenge ex event L322 at Billing in 2004 as it was back from Down Under then "knew" that one day I will have one like that. Forward a decade later and I did get this exact, one of 30 L322 used during the first G4 Challenge.

I did chat with the owner back then and am still in contact with him!

I think you should have left a note to the owner. Thumbs Up

Agh! it looked well cared for but used, so perhaps the owner looks in on the forum, I still have a few pics of the new green baby when I drove it to its new home. Considering the 02 Zambezi silver was new when they went on sale after I pre ordered it ahead of the launch I have no photos of that one as I was pretty upset to find fish eye spots on the roof panel the day after handover, the dealership tried to sort the paintwork but then dropped a polisher on the roof leaving a big dent, I was in the waiting area of the dealership looking through the nice glass window into the vehicle servicing area so saw exactly what happened. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those windows in a Land rover dealership of late. I'm sure you can all imagine the conversations that went on with the dealer principle, Land Rover, RAC Legal Department although I had to rejoin the back of the L322 Queue for the replacement Giverney Green I still thought it was the only choice of 4x4 at the time and after Cayennes x2, RRSx2 and Touareg I'm now back in L322s again. Perhaps we need a new section L322 Memories or am I getting soppy in my old age.

Paul

If you ever wonder what happened your very old car, and wonder if it's still on the road, there is somewhere in the DVLA website, a page that you can find out when a car was last/still taxed, you enter the reg and make, etc. I think I found it under a Google search for dvla vehical General quiry.it should have 'get vehicle information from dvla ' and have a green box saying start here. It's fun, seeing how many years your old cars stayed 'alive and well'

Yes, it's also very satisfying seeing your old car parked up, looking splendid.

Is that one of those special convertible conversions? Looks like it needs a little cut and polish... Whistle
