Seems expensive given that level of damage

Looks repairable though.

IMHO should be £20k Alistair...

If the car is worth circa £62k (& falling) retail! Its worth £45k as an mot'd Cat D...

So why the hell would anyone pay £40k for it as is Rolling Eyes

As usual you're on the money there Craig. Done properly that's at least a 15k repair and even then it will never be quite right, plus it will always be a CAT-D.

If I were doing it that would be a new bodyshell with about 100 - 120 hours of labour at a decent coachworks, i.e. not a dealer bodyshop. It wouldn't be hard to get that number up over 20k in all honesty which, as you point out, makes it a 20k motor as it stands.

And that's as a fixer-upper. If you were to break it there's not going to be much over 15k of parts on that. You really would have to sell everything at a good price which means money tied up for months.

I'd love to know what sort of impact did that because it just gives the impression that, although it was hit hard it's stood up remarkably well. I'd doubt the other ( if it was a car) came off so well Bow down

Me thinks too pricey. Suitable only for spares (possible chassis alignment issues?) and it's early 2012 production 60k miles SE, so Sub £20k.

Good news is the bonnet not closed indicator still works!!!!

Seeing as it's harder to blow your nose than steal one of them with nothing more than an iPhone and a brick some one will buy it for it's identity... Whistle Whistle Pete

i know its made from aluminium, (which makes repairing it extremely expensive, and i think has to be certified workshop etc) i think it should not be classed as described as 'light damage' unless it refers to it actuall 'hit a light' or even a lighthouse!

these salvage dealers are very, err, -expensive!
