Dealer Preparation on New Vehicle

Hello All

What does a dealer do to prepare a new vehicle before delivery to a customer.

Vehicle was purchased as floor stock with 30 miles on the clock

I was told my vehicle would take at least 7-10 days (not business days)

Seems rather long to me, seeing as I said no to all the "extras" like in house detailing, paint protection packages and tints offered by the dealer.

Thanks

When I've asked in the past, the answer was that the car had to be checked over (multi-point checks) and this was dependant on workshop availability. Whether or not this is true……..

Oh I'm all over the mileage lol......

Really makes me wonder what they're doing, or how long others have waited for a similar vehicle

And 7-10 days for multi point checks ? There sure must be a lot of things to check on a Range Rover lol..... Or it could just be me being extremely impatient

My new delivery took about 36 hours to prepare. You sure there isn't something fundamental being fixed? E.g. Damage??

If you've seen it & are happy with it, then I'd want to know what they are doing.

I've heard of them advertising before they are ready to put into the showroom & then taking some time to valet & prepare - but sounds like all of that should have already been done.

Both my last two purchases took 7 days to 'get the car ready'. I'm told they do some kind of health check or mini service to check the car is safe. Didn't really question it but probably should've checked mileage as some suggest. Only difference I could see was a gleaming clean car when I collected it.

As far as I know there was no damage and I was happy when I viewed the car

Oh well I guess as long as the mileage is still the same and everything else checks out when I collect, all
Should be good. Still makes me wonder tho.

I will ask again when I collect

It's just impatience, that's normal. Just ask your daughter what it's like waiting for Santa to bring her prezzies. Big Cry
