looking at the speed, it's no wonder, that the Germans' have a no puncture repairs allowed. also, when replacing one tyre, the opposite tyre must be replaced too.
can any German confirm this, or is it a 'bloke down the pub told me' myth.

im told, this is why we have loads of backs-street 2nd hand tyre shops. (imported form germany!)

when cruising at say a 'ton-and -a-half', you have to trust your rubber.

Can only assume it wasn't his car. Kick down sounds sweet. Seemed to kick down three shifts. I notice in my TDV8 it will kick to 5th from 8th (not that I'm comparing the two!!) 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus
