silly question, they do look bright, do they get brighter when you brake......

that level of brightness looks more like the brake lights than the tail lights. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Great. So now after a fair bit of reading at other boards it looks like voltage needs to be reduced from 12v to 6v as 2010+ led taillights require 5v to work. That is why these are so bright now.

Wonder why it was never mentioned anywhere here.

I also wonder if these magic boxes that supposedly fix all tailight issues address that or not.

Because at this point it seems like it may be easier to just buy these boxes and be done and not source resistors, voltage converters, cut wires here and there, connect this with that, calculate watts and ohms and worry if this or that will overheat etc etc

This just reminded me how I hate such projects. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

Could you not use one of those HGV / Truck 24 to 12 droppers and then only give it 12 on the 24 side? might work... then you could use some 12 V relays to switch the lights from your 6 v supply Rolling Eyes

Yup, I was looking at these 12 to 6 v converters. The thing is these have to be added to every line and from what I read on other forum turn signals stop working with these added. All the rest is correctly dimmed but blinkers somehow dissapear totally. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

Have you tried straightforward resistors on each line cutting the 12 to 6 Volts ? Just find a decent electric component shop and experiment a bit with them or find a good electronics specialist to sort it out for you Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Today I just ordered a set of magic boxes from super tweaks for GBP 225.

And guess what? Turned out they are made by JRElectric so I probably could have bought them cheaper!

Maybe I will try to get the set for front lights directly from JR then.

I am glad these should sort all issues and leave me with correct brightness and working fog lights. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

But I start to like the look, even on a dirty Buckingham Blue car:

Just a quick note that Supertweaks is not a good company to order from.

Ordered a set of magic boxes for the taillights on april 10th.

For three days online info only said "processing" when I checked order info at their website.

Emailed them 3 days after ordering the kit and asked if it was already on the way to me.

Got a very short answer "That is correct Sir". Hmm, ok, let's not be a difficult customer and just wait even when I expected more details (shipped then, tracking is here etc).

A week later (10 days after payment was made) I contacted them again and was told that they will dispatch the kit... within 48 hours! Exchanged a bunch of emails saying how not serious they are and how I do not like the experience so far but decided to wait for the tracking and not cancel the order.

Guess what? Today (72 hours later) still no info, no tracking, nothing.

This is not a way to do business. It's been 2 weeks, nothing has been even shipped out.

Cannot imagine treating my buyers this way and surviving. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

Ordered plenty of times from Supertweaks including my modules front and rear and not had any problems. Plenty of others have ordered from them as well. Recommend from me.
