Fault code P0401-20

Have a new fault with my beast.
Its on an 03 TD6.

P0401-20 Extended fault path exhaust recirculation governor deviation--negative deviation.

Have got the EGR blanking kit in it.

How to I go about fixing this issue?

Car has been running very good.

Thanks

What code reader were you using? wording seems strange. I'm sure that code relates to EGR insufficient flow (because it is blanked) not so sure on the L322 but I know from experience on BMWs when blanking the EGR it needs to be 'written out' of the ecu. Or you can drill a small hole in the blanking plate to let a small amount of gas through so it can 'see' EGR flow. Personally I'd have it mapped.

Hi Jones S13,

Its was taken from iid tool.

Checked the faults on Saturday and it came up,cleared it all then checked again yesterday and the same one came up again.

Hence the question.

Thanks for the tip on drilling small hole.

The egr on the td6 is vacuum operated. When you blank it off, blank /block the vacuum hose. Job done.
Check your vacuum hose has not sprung a leak. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Found leak in top hose that comes from intercooler steel pipe to inlet manifold.

Rang supplier and they only sell the complete unit, from bottom of intercooler up.

Any know if you can just get the top hose?

Thanks

p.s. disregard the very small pipe that lays on top of it.

I am sure someone on AULRO recently found a silicone substitute in Supercheap or Repco. Maybe ask there, I cant as I dont pay.
Try a BMW dealer, part number could be 11617799389 ??
This hose on ebay looks correct? Not a bad price with free ship. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-E38-E39-E46...SwNuxXY8oi 2007 TDV8 VSE
