Tried it again today and no issues going from high to low range..plugged in my icarsoft and did a data stream and its showing potentiometer going from clockwise to anticlockwise..49 degrees to 290 degrees? Does this indicate normal function ? Fingers crossed

No idea, if it's working then I wouldn't worry I would just excercise it it a few times. There is a calibration procedure you could do for good measure but if it's working ok then it was probably just a bit sticky before.
