central locking

firstly I've had an issue this week with my remote losing connectivity with the car..back to using the key and today I've noticed when I unlock car with key and want to open the other doors/petrol cap ect it doesn't work..usually double turning key does it? If i manually open passenger doors then lock the car up it succeeds in locking all the doors?? Help! Banging Head

Did another battery reset...the internal button now opens all locks...key will only open drivers door only? Its like when the battery's dead and you can only get access to drivers side....? Cars starting ok ..if my batteries dying could it cause the door lock issue?..

Was thinking that..maybe that's affecting bcu and in turn affecting ability to sync key and unlock all other doors externally? Any recommendations foe a good battery? Have a bosche one in it just now...cars only getting started in garage as its off road during its work getting done to it..batterys probarly dead...thanks

Tested battery and its needing renewal..will try and charge it first the test it....somehow solved the unsynchable keyfob...simply pulled the rf receiver fuse then it worked! ??

Don't understand that one but delighted all the same..key also unlocks all other doors when its double turned? Would love to know why?

It ended up an easy fix..i had pressed the keyfob buttons too many thanks times which did something to the rf receiver...all I did to fix it for was briefly pull the fuse for the RF receiver then I was able to re synchronize the key fob with the car...easy!

Pull fuse 14 in the rear fuse box (right hand side.in boot) I then put key in ignition and turned to position 2 ..take key back out then refit fuse( check its ok first) then try and resynch keyfob Thumbs Up

I think it is also the case that certain keypresses or combinations on the remote will enable/disable the 2 stage unlocking function. It was certainly like that on my 07. First press would unlock driver's door only, 2nd press would unlock the rest of the car. If you disable 2 stage locking then one press unlocks the whole car.
