Yesterday went shopping with the FF. On returning to the car it would not start and in the end had to get recovery out.

Would have said starter motor or starter solenoid but if you can't turn the key to the start position key and/or ignition lock/switch must be suspect as you have already thought?? Mine was a blue one! |

Thanks, Andy. Tried everything else so have ordered a switch from Dan. Hopefully that will do it.

I had this a while back and it turned out to be the ignition lock ECU. There is a thread about it and a link to a pssible solution here:

Turned out to be the ignition switch right enough. Replaced and now running. Just got to put the centre console back .

There has been a thread on AULRO in which the switch was removed, contacts cleaned with a good result. Pictures to show how..https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l322-range-rove...tch-2.html 2007 TDV8 VSE

Interesting thread. Will keep the old switch and try cleaning the contacts in case of future need. John
