Will the car start if the key fob battery has failed?

Yes ,battery is only for the central locking , it's an RF chip in the key to let you unlock the ignition and start it and that is passive . 2008 MY Supercharged
Rimini Red / Jet

remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.

The plastic emergency key doesn't have a battery. Wink

Two weeks ago I locked my keys in the car when I was 150km from home. The emergency key saved me having to call my wife to deliver the spare keys. Ron B. VK2OTC
