Alloys with winter tyres

Hi, I've just bought my first ff Range Rover. A Japanese import 2005 Westminster with few miles. The car is great, albeit with a couple of gremlins which I'm trying to iron out. I have a question about the tyres as it came with a spare set of alloys with Bridgestone winter tyres. Do owners really change their tyres based on the season? My assumption is that the car is very capable even on road tyres. given I'm just crossing a few fields on a regular basis, am I being shortsighted by considering eBaying them. Storing them for the longer term is likely to cause grief with my wife so this is also a factor Rolling Eyes

I appreciate the decision is mine but I welcome all viewpoints.

The alloys and tyres are immaculate so ought to be worth something.

Steve

I change my wheels based on the season, but then I live in Switzerland.

Winter tyres start to get better when the temp dips below 7°C. On snow they have something like 3 times the grip. You will curse flogging them if you have a moment on snow, but you will curse selling them when going through the pain of changing them over.

They look like Hurricane alloys from a P38 Range Rover.

I know that L322 alloys will fit a P38 with spigot rings as the centre hole is bigger on L322 alloys, but the centre hole on P38 alloys is too small to be fitted to an L322.

Please correct me if I'm wrong....as it's happened before Shocked ______________________________

I know that certain eastern European countries and possibly Scandinavian ones have a legal requirement for two sets of tyres - one for summer and one for winter. As this is a Japanese import, do they have the same requirement? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Had a further look and apparently the Hurricanes can be made to fit by boring out the hub. It means a slightly different offset.
Can't tell if that has been done to the OP's wheels. Not something I would want to do.

@Spelunker
According to Wikipedia, winter tires or snow chains are compulsory in most of Japan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_tire John

A local Land Rover indie has confirmed that they do fit the l322.

I'm interested in the comment about boring out the hub. What am I look for to see if this is the case?

That's a new one on me.

He must mean boring out the centres, because I fitted L322 alloys to a P38 and it needed spigot rings as the centres are different diameters. ______________________________

Thanks Simon. Sounds like they have likely been adapted to fit the L322. My LR indie was adamant they would fit so sounds like it would be more of an issue to go back to the P38. The missus might be disappointed after all.
