Passenger Door Electrics and Locking issues

Hi All.
Seems like i have read all the posts and topics reg door locks and issues but cant seem to sort my newly purchased 2002 Full Fat RR out.

So Symptoms are:

Door will not lock on remote or inside switch below hazards
Door will also not unlock as above.

Electric window will operate on the Passenger door but not on the Drivers door Controls.

Mirror will not adjust .

I have checked all the fuses and connectors to ensure they are connected but still to no avail.

Hope someone can help diagnose the problem.

Not sure if it is linked but keep blowing a 5 amp fuse linked to the radio (think its no.Cool

Many thanks.

Is everything else working on the drivers window switch pack?

Have you had a look at the connectors (between the door and the body), it is either somewhere in the A pillar or in the door that shuts onto it. There is a post on here somewhere about this where the car would not unlock and mechanics got access by "removing" the side vent and accessing the connectors which were a bit worse for wear. Cleaned up / repaired and all fixed.

Might be worth a look. .

Yes all the rest of the switches work on the drivers door.

As you say that is for the on board computer, audio system and telephone (where fitted)

However, stranger things have happened on an FFRR Shocked Worth a check in the left boot cubby for water ingress or poor connections, if nothing else than to fix that part of the problem. .

UPDATE...

It also seems that the car does not accept that the passenger door is open.
All the other doors illuminate the interior lights except the passenger one.

This is really bugging me now.

Is it a big / costly job to replace door lock wiring / switches.

Also another point. Does any one have a photo / diagram of what lead should be connected where on the door card?

Thanks in advance

Had a similar (no interior lights or central locking) problem with mine - took it to a local vehicle electrician who charged £40 to sort it. QUID FACIUM TIBI

Found out today that the passenger electric window is always live regardless of the ignition been on or off.
Maybe need a new door card or lock???

New door lock is going to cost a fair whack, we had to have our drivers side door lock replaced recently and it was over £200 plus it took about 3 weeks to arrive as it had to be coded to the key from LR. Might be cheaper on the passenger side though!

You may have 2 issues.

The central locking and mirrors will fail if the door latch dies. I've replaced one front and one rear, and both times had those symptoms. When the latch fails the car doesn't know if it's locked or not, so throws up its hands and gives up.

Latch is an easy peasy replacement. You do NOT have to replace the lock.

Window could just be a mucky switch.

I had this problem on my front passenger door as well. It was a wiring problem which an indy garage fixed for me. They removed the lower front wing panel below the side vent, the side vent itself and the rubber plug/socket at the A pillar. Water or moisture had got in to it and corroded one of the pins to dust. They replaced this pin and cleaned up the rest of the contacts and all the door electrics sprang into life. It also cured the non functioning passenger mirror (adjustment and power fold) and the odd one of old being able to operate the passenger window from the passenger switch. Hope this may help.
